Sarj Gosal

Sarj Gosal is a BC lawyer practising in the areas of WorkSafeBC claims and appeals and CPP disability appeals. He was born and raised in Vancouver, BC and obtained a Bachelors in Political Science (May 1988) and a Law Degree (LLB, May 1992) from the University of British Columbia. He was called to the Bar in May 1993.

Mr. Gosal has successfully represented a large number of disabled workers (over 4,000) and has extensive experience dealing with WorkSafeBC and CPP claims and appeals.

Mr. Gosal has been qualified (and provided oral evidence) as an expert regarding workers’ compensation matters in the British Columbia Supreme Court.

Michelle Bissenden

Michelle Bissenden is a Senior Associate Lawyer at Gosal & Company. She practices in the areas of WorkSafeBC claims and appeals and CPP disability appeals. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from the University of British Columbia in 2002 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta in 2006. Michelle was called to the Bar in September 2007.

Michelle has represented hundreds of injured workers at the Workers’ Compensation Appeal tribunal. She also has experience appearing before the Social Security Tribunal for CPP disability benefit appeals.

Prior to joining Gosal & Company in 2011, Michelle practiced at a leading Western Canadian law firm in Vancouver and worked at a national law firm in Sydney, Australia.

Duncan Sutherland

Duncan Sutherland is an Associate Lawyer at Gosal & Company. He practices in the areas of WorkSafeBC claims and appeals and CPP disability appeals. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (May 2009) and a Law Degree (J.D., May 2017) from the University of British Columbia. He was called to the Bar in 2019.

Prior to joining Gosal & Company, Duncan completed his articles at a professional regulatory body and worked as a financial journalist.

Abisola Omotayo

Abisola is an Associate Lawyer at Gosal & Company. She practises in the areas of WCB claims and appeals and CPP disability appeals. She obtained a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Cambridge in 2014 and a Master of Laws from the University of Toronto in 2017. Abisola subsequently completed the accreditation process in 2017 through the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. Abisola was called to the Bar in May 2019 and has enjoyed putting her skills to use ever since.

Prior to joining Gosal & Company in 2020, Abisola practised anti-poverty and human rights law at a legal non-profit organization in downtown Vancouver.
